Combustion Test Principle of 45 Degree Flammability Tester
45 degree flammability tester is used to determine the flammability of clothing textiles, and measures the intensity and speed of combustion of flammable textiles once ignited when worn.
It is also possible to test the damaged area and length of the textile fabric at 45° and the number of times it is exposed to a flame when heated and melted to a specified length.
Test Principle:
1.Burning intensity and speed test
Under the specified conditions, the sample is placed at an Angle of 45°, the sample is ignited for 1s, and the time required for the sample to burn upward for a certain distance is used as a measure to assess the intensity of burning of the textile.
For fabrics with a raised surface, ignition or melting of the backing is an additional indicator of the intensity of combustion.
2.Test the damaged area and damaged length
Under the specified test conditions, the textile specimen in the 45° direction was ignited, and the continuous combustion and smoldering time, damage area and damage length after fabric combustion were measured.
3.Number of flame contact tests
Under the specified test conditions, the textile sample in the direction of 45° is ignited, and the number of times that the fabric needs to contact the flame at 90mm from the lower end of the sample is measured.
